What sets Westpark Neurology apart from other providers?
At Westpark Neurology we strive to provide the highest quality of care possible in order to provide the best quality of life for our residents. We work together as team, and always put our resident’s needs first.
Our unique population offers a fun, energetic atmosphere for young adults. As a young adult facility we provide an atmosphere that includes daily activities and outings that promote a high-functioning quality of life.
Do you offer short-term respite and hospice care?
Westpark Neurology offers short-term/respite care to suit many purposes from recovery from an illness to experiencing a skilled nursing setting on a trial basis to see if it is right for you.
At Westpark Neurology, we believe a resident should stay as long as his/her needs can be met. To that end, we support the provision of Hospice Care from a variety of agencies, and can assist you in making these decisions if necessary.
What if a resident requires specialized services?
Upon moving into Westpark Neurology & Rehabilitation Care Center, each resident is assessed by our team. Together, we determine what services are required to meet the individual's personal needs. Based on the assessment process our staff will develop a resident care plan, coordinating all health-related and supportive services for each resident. This may include physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as skilled nursing care. Our team is ready to assist with coordinating additional services when needed.
Who provides the care in a skilled nursing facility?
Before a patient arrives, we put together a team of caring professionals including board certified physicians, nurse practitioners, therapy specialists, and skilled nursing clinicians to create individualized programs, monitor residents' progress and adjust them as necessary.
Our skilled nursing staff consists of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) Registered Nurses (RNs) and State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs). Your physician will also work with the clinical team to create your individualized care plan. Additional support staff members are available to provide housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and nutritional services.
The social worker is on site to ensure that each individual is able to maximize their independence, individuality and dignity while obtaining the highest quality of life possible.
The Administrative staff provides direction and support to all team members and manages the daily services
How is skilled nursing paid for?
The cost of skilled nursing varies depending on where you live, what level of care is provided and what type of accommodations you choose. Most seniors do not usually meet their long-term care needs from any one source. Instead a combination of support-private funds, long-term care insurance and government assistance is used to foot the bill. Medicare covers post-hospital, short-term skilled care only-and may not cover the cost of ongoing nursing home care. For low-income seniors who meet eligibility requirements, Medicaid might pay a portion of the cost.
